Title: Stress creak during cornering.
Post by: Antjp123 on 29 September 2015, 09:01
My Bora is a 1.9 tdi sport with standard suspension. (Pretty firm)
I get a noise from the o/s front. The noise sounds like a stress creak, sometimes it can be a few creaks during 1 turn, I changed the strut top bearing and rubber to try and fix the noise. But it's made no difference at all. The noise is so harsh it can be felt through my pedals, sometimes steering wheel. It also makes the noise if I turn into a parking spot braking. Doesn't make a noise at all dry steering or jacked up steering. I don't have to be going hard into bends for the noise to occur, Im pretty sure that when it rains the noise goes away. It's strange and it's bugging me. ball joints, track rod ends, wishbone bushes are good. Antirollbar hasn't been checked properly but it looks to be ok. I was going to take off drop links to eliminate it all together for a test drive. That's my next step. Has anybody got a noise like this?
