Title: Knocking when Turning and accelerating
Post by: UnCl3RoRy on 19 September 2015, 20:16
Ello guys.

Got a slight issue with a knocking sound when Turning and accelerating. It mainly does it when Turning right, so I assumed it was drivers side cv joint so I swapped it, but unfortunately it is still knocking. I don't have any noises Over bumps just sharp cornering.

Please can someone shed some light.

Thanks

Could be a number of things....steering arm and/or track rod end worn would be a first port of call. Then also top mounts as these allow movement when cornering.

Thats a strange one as typically knocking on when turning would also happen over bumps etc.

I would consider - in no order:
Track rod ends
Ball joints
Drop links
Top mounts
Steering rack or rack mounts.
