So my dealer just emailed me to say my car will be due in around 6 weeks, he recommended that if it runs into Novemeber then I should wait until January to register it?? What's everyone's opinion on this? The thought of waiting 2 months knowing its ready might kill me lol
Obviously it's my decision but I just don't know

God no, the plate won't change and GFV shouldnt alter. What was his reason, other than you get to say your car was registered in 2016?

He said the difference in price when coming to sell between a Nov 2015 car and a 2016 car will be huge :undecided:

Strange advice.
Maybe he was thinking of some sales incentive target for the dealership or himself in January.

Oh so he did give you a reason then..
Did you ask how much ?

it's not the difference between a 15 or a 16 plate, so what's he talking about!! It would only make a difference if you registered it in March on a 16 plate.
If mine eventually turns up in Nov I'll be registering it straight away.

Being from N. Ireland our cars are registered differently ie it's not a 2016 car until Jan 2016. Where as the rest of the UK is already a 2016 car as of now, I think.
If so would that make a difference??

That would explain a difference, but surely he has given you a GFV? Or has he given you 2 based on the different registration periods?

No mate he has given me just one GFV which is set, I guess he knows I change my cars pretty often and unlikely to reach the end of my term, so maybe just maybe he is looking out for my better interest........but then again he's a car dealer so I guess not
