Title: Damaged Key FOB and need to re-program??? HELP
Post by: maples1710 on 13 September 2015, 13:15
I need help re-programming a KEY FOB with only one working key...Can this be done?

I have a VW Gold MK4 2.0 GTI Y reg and when I brought the car it had only one key/FOB but I found another key/FOB in the glove box. The key wast different. Yesterday like a dumb ass I washed the key/FOB and now it will only let me open the car from the passenger side and I cannot switch the alarm off with the key. Can I detach the key from the other key/FOB and reprogram the FOB to the working key? I really don't want to start spending a lot of money getting new keys for it.

Any help would be good.

Thanks

Take both keys to a decent locksmiths along with vehicle info/vin and about 60 quid.
VW will pull your trousers down for a new key.
