Hi all, I recently bought a mk4 1.6 2003 golf as a second car,
It had been sat for about six months without moving,
I have stripped & cleaned the brakes + new pads but the pedal goes to the floor & the red stop lights flashes then the engine goes berserk. Can't find a vacum leak anywhere & I also changed the master cylinder as I was convinced that was the issue.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Cheers
Dave

if the fluid has run dry you will need to find someone with vag com to prime the ABS unit with fluid again

I had this problem before there was anything removed, the pedal is fine with the engine off, if I disconnect the vacum pipe at the throttle body & plug it then start the engine the brakes are fine.

Checked the one way valve?

Is that the one on the vacum pipe?

Yeah that's the one. You've also got one going to the servo from the other side of the inlet

Where exactly is that one? Cheers
