Ive been running the TT short shifter for about 2 years and no problems with it, but i guess its a VAG OEM part. About 25% shorter shifts, feels perfect.

I think the neufspeed is quite abit shorter than that as it one of the shortest they it is really short have heard short shifters can damage the synchros in the gear box but i dont no if thats true or not

Is the gearbox a smooth change when cold standerd? As i have not drove one standerd so dont no if its just me or its the shifter making it feel abit gritty/kluncky

Yeah it smooth day or night

Perhaps it would benefit from a gearbox oil change.

Hi, I was surprised when I first drove our 2010 Gti as the travel between 1 / 2 and 3/4 seems long -in fact if you select 1st / 3 rd & 5 th quickly your hand nearly touches the centre console under the heating controls ! To make matters worse ours had a horrible Parrot phone kit and the screen was stuck right in front of the gear lever - you could initiate a phone call trying to select 3 rd gear- it was promptly removed 😁I have shortened my shift lever using a small hacksaw by a couple of inches and this makes it feel much better. Cheers
