as you can probably tell by my title someone has decided to leave some lovely scrape marks down the offside rear quarter, somehow in both direction, a total of 17 marks across the panel. It all looks to be clear coat only, so I will be able to get them out with my orbital, but it winds me up I now have to spend an hour or so fixing my car because some d**k can't control whatever it was that did it.
I have taken a pic, but the problem is, I used carnauba wax on it yesterday.....so it's to shiny to get a look at the paint lol

Looks very high for a car to have done that, especially considering how light the scratches are. Looks to me that someone in a studded coat as squeezed between 2 cars,, dragging their studs across your paintwork.
-
Annoyingly I know where it happened. In the crown car park in saffron waldon. We met up with my wife grandparents for lunch, and I parked as far away from everyone as I could, I went back to the car 30minutes later to grab something and noticed a 4x4 parked that side of me. They had given me so much room, i thought to myself " at least that side won't get scratched"......got home and realised that happened.
Phoned the crown but they don't have CCTV

Absolute tossers.
Same thing happened to my old MK5 GTI. Well, similar. I came out in the morning to find a scratched headlamp and front wing - and white make up. It happened on Halloween so I think some dunken idiot fell into my car :-(
-
That's pretty cr***y. People are very careless though and don't respect others property. Hopefully as you say it'll polish out so whilst definitely a pain it could've been a lot worse.
-
So annoying! Feel for you, and just after you'd detailed it as well.
Some people just don't give a toss and merrily go their way oblivious to what they are doing. I remember someone scratching all down rear quarter and boot of my GTI, it was obvious someone had squeezed past with a handbag buckle nicely trailing all across the paintwork. Polished out but not the point.
Hope it comes out ok.

Used a bit of G3 scratch removal and some Megs polish followed by some more carnauba to finish, it needs a second pass but it started to rain, certainly a lot better.
-
Its hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like the scratches are up and down rather than side to side which would suggest they weren't trying to squeeze past.
Somebody that came out the 4x4 and leaned against your car clowning about maybe?
I'm sure you'll get them out no bother but its not the point. People are just so careless.
-
Bad times man, I just hate times like that, some people just have no respect at all for other people's pride and joy.
Hope you get it sorted ok

What a balls. My ultimate pet hate is inconsiderate arseholes in car parks!
How are you finding Lapiz otherwise? Relatively ok to keep looking good? I picked up mine 2 weeks ago and I reckon it'll be much harder work than my old white GTI.
-
The lapiz is a reasonable amount of work to keep looking good. My old NB GTI was considerably easier.
I'm really unsure what it was that did it. It covered such a large surface area and was so high and low on the panel, with no pattern to the marks. They were all completely asymmetric other than the 2 big ones.
I have been out and about today, and have been extremely paranoid!

its lasses with shoulder bags in our works carp park...moving between cars they always seem to catch some
I park in the last space at the farthest point away from the door so nobody ever has to walk past mine!
-
Doesn't matter how lonely my parking space, there's always a 4x4 or truck next to it when I come back. I think they do it on purpose.
