Hey! I asked this over on the MK5 thread but those guys are useless and no one ever reply's so hopefully one of you might have an idea?
I've got an 05 Jetta and yesterday the driver door decided it no longer wanted to have any power?! Central locking works fine except for driver door. Window doesn't open lights on the door don't come on and the controls for the locks and other windows do nothing.
Weirdly the speakers still work but everything else is dead.
Checked fuses and they are all good.
Scanned with vagcom and get a no communication error on drivers door.
I've had the door panel off and all the cables are plugged in and can see no visible breaks but am yet to rip off all the black sheathing around the cables.
Any ideas?

I did somethign like this, check the main connector to the door module i didnt notice when i first saw it that it wasn't connected correctly it has a leaver that goes from up to down to remove and down to up to lock make sure its all locked in.

Thanks for the reply but I've checked all that already and its all firmly in place.
Dunno if to just by a door loom and replace it but would rather not have to run the cables!

its not actualy that bad, it connects to a connector just in the footwell behind a panel and then loops into the door.
just need a good fork or something to leaver off the cable clips

Disconnect connectors in door and Carland check wires individually for continuity.
Most likely just a wiring issue.
