Does anyone here run all season tyres? Due to the nature of my shifts and not really wanting to have a spare set of winter tyres sat in the garage, I'm considering buying a set of all seasons. Most of my driving is either before 6am or after 7pm. This means my driving is done when temperatures are often below 7 degrees for a majority of the year. With this in mind, I don't think full summer tyres are the best option for me. I have been running with winter tyres for the last 18 months with no real problems, but I think all seasons might be the better way to go.
Can anyone recommend a good AS tyre in size 225/40/18?

I don't seem to be able to find many AS tyres in 225/40/18. I assume they aren't very popular in the UK, yet they seem the best suited to our climate!

You will struggle to find many in that size to be honest.
They are a) not popular in UK and b) in Europe they are normally only fitted to small run arounds (likes of Polo, KA, Fiesta, the small Frenchies) as they are only ever a compromise, sh!te in real winter and at 30-35 degrees in the summer they will wear quickly and have little grip and are usually worse in the wet than real summers.
Used to run some on my exes KA, they were OK all year round where we live and well she only ever drove 5k miles a year.
I normally run on 225/45/17 in the summer and if there is winter then go down to 205/55/16 M+S.
Personally I'd always go for two sets of wheels and tyres. All seasons are neither a girl you can have fun with nor a woman you want to marry. :rolleyes:
