Has anyone fitted a cruise control stalk and if so how easy is it and which one did you buy off ebay? Cheers
-
Hi, I've fitted cruise control to my 2010 Gti , steering wheel and airbag req removal but apart from that just replace switch and then code to enable it- a worthwhile retrofit , cheers

Ordered a stork off ebay thanks for ure help

I think there was a difference between 2009 models and later? I have read that the mk5 golf stalk fits the 2009 model and so is cheaper than the one fitted to the newer models...

331331977974 This is the item number off the one i have bought off ebay it says it fits mk5 and mk6 golf 2009-2013 i am not to sure if it will fit now you have said that haha

I think the 2010 model and later requires both stalks as they come as a single unit and a new controller. This link helped me. The scirocco and mk6 are similar. http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=14802&hilit=cruise+control+retrofit

It wont let me open that as i am not a member mine gti is a 2010 so if ure right it wont fit have to try and get my money back as the guy on ebay said it would fit so i need one that comes with 2 stalks as a full unit?

Retrofitting cruise will depend on what hardware is in your car.
What part number is your BCM?
-
Wot is a bcm pal?
-
BCM is body control module.
A scan via VCDS will show BCM number and can check from there..
Ive been meaning to do the same.

The stalk design changed mid 2010 best to remove the wheel and see if you have the two seperate units or the later complete single unit for both stalks.
-
Okay will do nice one for that snoopy
-
You can tell which stalk is the earlier or later one by the way main beam operates. If the stalk stays forward when you push it for main beam, it's pre 2010. If it springs back, it's the later one.

I will try that tonight cheers
