I have fitted led rear lights to my car and it has brought the bulb light on my dash can anyone help me do i need a vagcom? Or could it be done on a snap on computer not really after buying a vagcom just to remove the lights? Cheers

VCDS may help but potentially you will need a new BCM depending on the age of the car.

Those darn bulb out errors again

Wots a bcm mike? My car is a 2010 gti?

Body Control Module. In simple terms it's an ECU that controls certain electrical functions.
Your car being a 2010 should support LED rear lights with just some simple VCDS coding to erase the bulb out warning lights. Mine is the same age and works perfectly.

Is there anyone around the manchester area that would let me use there vagcom and i would pay dont fancy buying one just to do that or is there no other way to clear it?

Doc hasn't been on here for ages mind
There is a VCDS list on the forum under the garage section

2010 GTI just needs them enabled on VCDS as said. Done this on mine already.
LED registration lamps are a different story though

You can disable bulb check entirely on older BCM modules, though not sure if VCDS can do that, VCP can.

If everything goes to plan I'll be fitting rear led's to my car tomorrow, however I'll then have the same problem as you... I'm also in the manchester area, if I find someone who is able to sort the error messages out I'll drop you a pm mate

Okay nice one my friends got a vagcom so will have to give it a bash getting annoyed off seeing the light on the dash now lol
-
If he has vagcom it won't work. Too old to support CAN.

Dis able the bulb check only works on certain bcm for LED number plate lights. Iirc its 2011 on with the software for it. Earlier cars you can turn it off but you will get a light out error sooner or later as it doent turn it off completely due to the software.
