iv a golf mk4 18 turbo AUQ 180bhp, p1296 keeps coming back bringing engine light on, changed thermostat and water temp sender any ideas out there
-
Maybe wiring issue, read more here:http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17704/P1296/004758
What program did you use to her fault codes? P errors tend to be OBD2....
Worth checking actual readback with VCDS.

iv a D900 hand scanner and vcds lite basic and both say the same?????
-
What's the story if you look at measuring blocks rather than fault codes with VCDS?
-
it says on vcds lite
1 fault found
17704-error in mapped cooling system(check temp sensor and thermostat)
p1296-35-00-
any ideas as stated iv changed both and still it comes back
-
try wiring next mate

wot wiring dude

If you have VCDS lite you can look at measuring blocks, not merely fault codes....
What wiring? Obviously the wiring between ECU and temp sender.
