Question:
what do i do with the blue wire hang out from this aerial adpater?

the original vw loom plug is made up of black, gold and blue sections, the connects2 loom doesnt seem to have connections to the pins in the blue area? anyone know what the blue area pins are for? bit of googling reveals this is the connection for the ipod connection in the arm rest.

blue wire from the antenna adapter goes to the antenna remote (or amp remote) on the new head unit.
-
on the cde-w296 headunit the blue power antennae lead is not on the fly i.e its connected within the twin block output loom from the headunit, and marries to a blue lead in the connects2 supplied wiring when the blocks are connected.
The blue wire then carries on into the canbus reader supplied as part of the connects2 kit.
I'm wondering if this blue wire is meant to go somewhere in the canbus reader......
-
There not any decent instructions as this is supposed to be a full kit?!
-
nope a sh!tty little a4 sheet on how to connect the canbus reader within the connects2 to kit together, but nothing else

not exactly the right car but a bit more on it here:

thanks Pal, i think it boils down to me connecting the blue lead to a switched +12V.

Installed and all good in regards to functionality , blue tooth streaming, steering wheel controls .
However I thought the surround it self would sit flush with the dash panel ?

Good job getting it working, the fitment does look a bit poor though :undecided:
-
Looks like it needs to go further back? :undecided:
-
The plates at the side of the headunit needed adjusting to sit it further back in the cage .
All good now
