Title: Sticky gear stick and window, advice needed.
Post by: ANDY597 on 23 September 2005, 00:00
mk3 driver 1800 - 1994. 5 door.

My wifes car, so things tend to go un-noticed until they get bad.

Its done 100k,  its in pretty good nick apart from laquer damage to the bonnet where a previous owner had an L plate and a scuff down the wing courtest of supermarket sweep. Other than that, its pretty tidy, give or take one or two minor bubbles.

Wife noticed recently its very stiff going into 1st (oooeeerrr missus) Whats the score. ?

Also, drivers window is becoming very slow.

Cheers

Hmmm , slow window ............

could be either , there is a connection problem to the motor , whereby there is not enough power getting to it , check the wires in the connection boot between the body and the door .

or , the mechanism could need a grease and clean .

Yeh, fair point the car is a bit manky.

Any ideas on the gear change.
