Just wanted to know if anyone has had their waterpump changed yet?
Mine is on 65k / 59 plate and the service schedule says every 5 years, some people on the MK6 forum say theirs is still running good at 100k+ miles.
Not sure whether to let it run a bit further and wait for any small leaks or noise. Also, do any secondary belts need changing at the same time?

New to the forums although I've had the GTi for over 2 years. Not much of a "poster". Had mine WP changed under extended warranty at just under 50K, I think. Expansion bottle, levels falling slowly over a period of time. First time it was checked, Pressure tested, couldn't find any problem. The next time, months later, informed the pump needed to be replaced.

63k/10 plate here and still on the same water pump, level in the expansion bottle never changes.
Mind you I am still on the original tensioner

Your a brave man

My VW dealer recommended changing the WP when changing the tensioner. Did not bother and still no problems but only on 45k.

well the tensioner is supposed to be checked and only replaced when/if it needs to. Haven't noticed any notes on the service schedule on changing the WP after 5 years though... you sure that's what it says mate?
