Hi guys have any of you experience of a rear passenger door not opening. It's locked shut. The car has been sitting for about 3 weeks not getting used. Is there anything to check or a fuse etc ?
-
Got the door card off. Mechanism sounds like it's working but nothing happening.now it gets worse, the cable for the electric window has came loose and not on the drum properly. Think something fell out of the door card when I drilled the rivet out. Anyone had there door in bits ? The door still isn't opening !

Had a similar problem with my Touran, passenger door would not always open, could hear the click when using the key and the internal button. Unfortunately I needed a complete new lock, fortunately warranty paid.

Its a common issue with vw products. It defaults to deadlocked when it fails.
Ive not done one on a mk6 but plenty of mk4s, passats and our two SEATs.
Search the net for the wiring to the lock diagram.
Disconnect it from the door controller.
Then connect the unlock wires to a constant 12v+ signal (cordless battery drill is my fav) while its connected and trying to unlock keep trying the exterior door handle thats normally enough to unlock it and open the door. Then disconnect the power of cause.
Remove the lock (now you can get at the screws). Disassemble it. Resolder all the joints on the PCB and check the cogs also clean the microswitches. (Its nornally dry joints and dirty microswitches)
If thats above your capability replace the lock unit with a new or secondhand one.

Thanks for the Help. What If I can't get it open with the wires direct on. What's the other option ?
As for the metal wire that goes to the window regulator I've no idea how there is slack on it now and it feels loose. It keeps on jamming now

Anyone know what pins are for the deadlock so I can get the door open
-
If the door lock motor is still running then 99% of the time it will in my experience open.
if it does not sadly due to the removal screws iirc been on the door side like other vws you have to hammer and chissel the plastic lock mechanism from inside the door cavity and destroy it to get the deadlock pin to unlock. Infact the destruction way is the way most people do it rather than the way I do it. Lots of info on that on the net.

Door now fixed, new lock and window regulator. Now when I lock or unlock the doors there is a beep as if it's the horn or alarm ? Can I stop this. It's not the full on horn just a beep then a beep beep when locking
-
I set my golf to beep on locking. Needed to code it using VCDS so assume you need to do the same to remove the beep?
-
Still beeping so I can only assume the guy had to program the door latch and has turned it on by mistake. Anyway £340 later the door is opening !!!!
