It does make me wonder how anyone can make money building replica GTI , surely the parts alone would be 10k plus the price of the car.

Sold on the promise of saving fuel and insurance. I bet a highly modified (albeit cosmetically) 1.2TSI Golf costs more to insure than a genuine GTI for everyone, regardless of age. Milking a weak engine to get it to do anything causes them to be thirsty - the MPI Fabia courtesy car I just had never got over 40mpg judging by what I had to put in it to get the gauge back to where it was when I collected it.

Its a Cat D salvage motor so probably used other salvage GTI bits to rebuild it or trade prices.

It's a sheep in wolfs clothing. Absurd!

Replicas, always thought they were a bit sad.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so the saying goes...

Sheep are faster than that will be, more like a hedgehog in a Cheetah's suit!
Not sure why they'd go to the trouble of a Lapiz respray rather than just rebuild in another Golf colour that the car already was, except for the colour to scream "this is an R, honest.."

There is no such thing as a bargain in cars.
This looks like a nightmare - i certainly don't want someone else's 'project' - I would have to question the quality of the work and how safe it is.
If it's cheap, then it's cheap for a reason.
I'd feel like a bit of a twit driving round in this, I certainly wouldn't have added GTI badges.

CAT D car, probably built up again with other CAT D car bits
