Hello All,
Apologies if it has been covered before - as I did try a search :-).
Anyway my issue is with the car's Discover Pro - as unfortunately today it decided to go slightly weird.
Background is December 2013 GTI Mk7 - and the Discover Pro has been working fine since new until today. The problem started after I stopped for a few minutes whilst using the Discover Pro - on restart I got an error message about inserting valid navigation data - or something along that lines.
The Discover Pro is sort of working - but I have lost voice commands and the auto-zoom is no longer working. I have checked the volume isn't muted - and that auto-zoom is enabled.
To try and rectify the problem I stopped - turned ignition off and restarted the Discover Pro. Alas that didn't sort things. I've also tried resetting to factory defaults but the issue persists.
The map was updated to the newest version May 2015. No problems until now.
Many Thanks

You have just updated it?
How long ago (in drive time?)

Hi,
I updated the maps May 2015 - and the problems only started today 19/07/2015. The car has covered about 3000 miles since the map update with no problems.
Prior to today (19/07/2015) the Discover Pro was running faultlessly.
Thanks

Don't know if it's related or coincidence, but I've read of a few people having issues with the May 2015 updates (although not the exact one you describe), which is why I've stayed clear of it for the time being.
Would it be worth doing a fresh download (I.e. Don't reuse you original copy), in case there's an issues with the original download and try updating again ?

Hi Sootchucker, I'll try the download again from scratch - worth a try. Don't know if it matters - but will the system overwrite maps with same version number?

I asked about how long you've had that version because I had all sorts of fits and starts while mine was updating - everything from weird error messages to the whole unit seemingly locking up, then it finally rebooted and was ok. Sounds like you're way past upgrade time though.
I've not got that version of the map (yet)

Hi fredgroves, just to confirm the May 2015 map update installed without problem. I'll try a reinstall of the maps - and if that doesn't work I'll seek professional help.

Problem seems to be sorted for now. Basically I did a full reset and left the car over night - and all's well this morning. Only annoying bit is that I've lost all my waypoints. Thanks to all for their help.
