Title: KR icv delete
Post by: Heathy325 on 15 July 2015, 20:02
Hi all I'm new to the forum and having trouble with my 89 gti 16v it's the kr engine and the icv isn't working I've tried cleaning it, tested all temp sensors as I was lead to believe one is used to trigger the icv, removed the control unit and cleaned all contacts, replaced the icv with a working one but still dosent work has anyone any ideas? I would like to remove it all togeather if this is possible to avoid future problems has this been done and if so is there a thread about it?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm at my whits end with it cheers

What's an icv? Going to assume you mean isv and point you at many threads:

What are the symptoms? The isv can only cope up to a point, if you have an air leak anywhere after the metering head, even a small one, the isv will not have enough capacity to cope.
