Title: 2.0gti 8v 1997 ABS sensors
Post by: oldgit on 21 September 2005, 18:48
Hi All,
Anybody know of a quick way of telling which abs wheel sensor is faulty perhaps without taking each one off and swapping it till the warning light goes out.

the way i found out is by getting it a guy to read the faults, a garage normally charges about £30 - £60 to read faults.

The proper way is to get the faults read , as it may not be a sensor at all .

i had the same problem. took it to a garage and they decided to take them off, but in doing so they snapped both of them. so had to have them replaced in the end.

the guy says they are really hard to get off without breaking, safest way is a test.
