Have just bought a mk5 golf 2.0 FSi and have bought some new alloys for it, they are 18 x 8 et42 with 225/40/R18 uniroyals! Fitted to them my car which isn't currently lowered and they stick out a long way so put then on my mates golf which is lowered roughly 35mm and it looked pretty close

Do you think they will run with screw arch mod?

Bit of a rubbish pic but it looks like you've got plenty of clearance there?
I'm running 18x8 et42 225/40/18 and I'm lowered 40mm and am not anywhere near close to catching anything.
Are you planning on lowering yours?
-
Yes I will be lowering mine for sure, they stick out and are probably illegal without it lowered. That's why I put them on my mates lowered golf to see if they come in

But just wanted some ones opinion as to wether they will rub then
Cheers

Are they genuine or reps? As far as I'm aware blq's don't come in 8j only 8.5 which would explain the extra poke.
When you lower a car the top of the wheel tucks a little bit anyway so you might get away with it. Otherwise you'll need smaller tyres.

Yes unfortunately they are reps so managed to get 8J! Couldn't afford genuine ones, will see how I get on maybe have to get a 215 on there
