Does anyone know if a failed oil cooler would cause an oil pressure problems? Going out of it trying to solve my oil pressure problem
-
theoretically yes it could... but the pressure would have to be escaping somewhere meaning you'd see oil too
-
if your cooler failed the oil might be going in to your coolant which could explain your oil pressure loss and your burst coolant hose. check for oil in your coolant header tank.
-
thanks guys, had a quick look last night and couldnt see any leaking around the cooler. The sump is definitely leaking so thatll be off when i get some hex keys.
The hose didnt burst as such, the bit of plastic that has the drain tap came off the radiator connector bit

Im not 100% the coolant and oil were related, the coolant leaked then topped it up, stop and top up and repeat sort of journey except the last time it happened the coolant light came on then a few seconds after the oil pressure light flashed up and the engine cut out

noticed the breather pipe that goes to the tip from the rocker cover is cracked also, would this have any effect?
