Hello! I am new on this forum. I just bought a Mk6 GTI and I love everything about it other than the previous owner had taken off the boot GTI badge. I have purchased a replacement badge but don't know how to position it correctly. If anyone has the time to quickly take a straight-on photo of the bottom left area of the boot and with a ruler or tape measure next to the badge I can then work out exactly where mine should go. (also, apologies if this is something that has already been covered. I did various searches and couldn't find anything.)

If you ask at your dealer/bodyshop they should have a template that you can use. I'm sure they will let you use it on their premises.

Thats a good idea. Cheers!

I put on the new badge. Think I did a pretty good job ;)

My GTI came debaged as well on the rear, have thought about getting it redone.
Did you buy the badge from the stealers or is it an after market jobby? Also what did you use to stick it on or was that included?

Nice work Chad
Buy from a dealer, not expensive. They have 'sticky pad' things on the back of the letters.

Cheers!
I bought mine on ebay but used the part number to make sure I got a genuine OEM one. (1K0853675BJ739) Should look like this: (http://www.getem.pl/zdjecia/1487.jpg)
It comes with sticky on the back and the letters are also lightly stuck to the clear front bit, which means that you don't need to worry about the spacing between the three letters....unless you want to change the order of the letters! (I did the 'GIT' thing on photoshop BTW. really wanted to do it in real life but figured the joke would wear thin after a while.)
