Title: Golf gti pp pad help
Post by: Leglessracing on 21 June 2015, 16:37
Hi guys,

I'm trying to find some aftermarket track pads for my gti and it's not easy! I have the performance pack Calipers which makes it more difficult
Ideally I'm looking to run project mu pads but something like pagid, ferodo may also be considered

What's everyone using?

Have you contacted VW Racing, I'd be amazed if they can't help you?

Not contacted them yet, I've only started out on the hunt today so was asking here first

Maybe try extending the search to any pads listed for the Audi S3/Leon Cupra as they share the same front caliper?
Failing that you'll definitely get something from Ian @ Carbotech as they will bond any of their friction materials to an OEM backing plate, their XP8 compound is a fantastic road/track pad

I've read a few good things about the carbotech Beddie. They may be worth looking at! I've heard that the ax6 has good write ups so may be worth getting hold of him to see what he recommends

Yeah AX6 is a great compound too and is more road friendly than the XP8, Ian will see you right though mate as he's a very knowledgeable and likeable chap

I believe the Audi TTs front discs are a direct swap too, better internal cooling vents than the regular disc especially if you use the Brembo version

Ok great, the XP8 may be more of what I'm looking for then
Is Ian a member in here? Do you have a link to him?
