evening all  could any of you guys tell me if a drivers side 1990 rear brake caliper would work on the passenger side of a 1987 mk2 gti? cheers.

Are they not handed. Have heard of fitting mk4 brakes upside down on pre 89 cars due to handbrake cable length. This might be an option. Recently sold a set of front and rear brakes with servo and mc for 20 quid. Unless you already have the brake get mk4 or skoda Fabian vrs brakes.

yeah the calipers are sided on each car. but on the 87 car the handbrake lever is on top of caliper and hose goes underneath. on the 90 car it is vice versa so at a glance it looks like the d/s 90 caliper could be flipped 180 degrees and fitted to p/s of 87 car.

Don't see Why not

yeah it does look kinda promising that it will work. if and when I get round to it it wont have a choice. it will be going on one way or another  ps already have caliper.

think I will need to hold it upside down to bleed it though as the bleeder will be at the bottom
