I have just done a search on google for the GTI clubsport and stumbled across the the following link for Car Scoop. It has a lot more pics of the GTI Clubsport than I have previously seen. Take a look at the link below it even has some decent pics of the interior and bucket seats. Which I must add look great. There is a lot more alcantara in this car which hopefully transfers down to the final production model with the bucket seats etc,. We can only hope?

Looks nice. Wheels are a little fussy and that rear spoiler is a bit halfords.
-
Nice pics, some i haven't seen:
Front splitter was used on the test vehicle at the Ring so should have some value, rear diffuser is probably only cosmetic as it wasn't on the test car, so serves no purpose, front grille vents?!? Not sure TBH probably cosmetic.
if it was 100 kg lighter without AC, Sat nav and some sound proofing and with lightweight wheels, I probably would have put a deposit down, but as it is, its a cosmetic refresh with a remap.
-
Looks like they stole the wheels from a new atra VXR.....
-
I am not a fan of the wheels either. Just cannot grow to love them, they do look a litte too halfords and over the top, not at all as refined as the usual wheels for a performance golf. However I do like the interior a lot and hope it makes it to production. I also hope they refine the overall exterior design a little as well. As mentioned before I understand the heritage of clubsport and the black stripe down the side of the car but I really find it hard to get used to it and not sure if really finishes the car as it should. However I quite like the styling of the spoiler and diffuser.
-
Nice find.
The good - I like the black Clubsport stripe down the side, but it's only ever going to really work on white or silver. Might be ok with red but could equally end up looking a bit tacky? Like the rear diffuser. The interior looks great, love the seats, shame they weren't an option on the R  Overall it's got something going for it, but as said, needs a bit of refinement.
The bad - not sure about that rear spoiler, looks a bit like a cheap aftermarket jobby. Not sure either about the lower grill/fog vents, the flaring could be more aggressive. And the alloys, well - yuck

It seem if there is one thing most of us agree on, it's the wheels are not great. I was unsure about whether to go for the Clubsport or Golf R400 if it were on appearance alone, not taking in to acount the performance aspect. But after seeing the interior shots of the clubsport it is becoming a serious contender again.

Depends what you want from the car, but the Clubsport would probably be my choice too over the R400 (not that I'm in the market for one having blown all my money on the R ). The wheels are easily sorted with a nice set of aftermarkets

My initial thoughts on the wheels were the same as everyone here but they have kinda grown on me.
I reckon in the flesh coupled with seeing a car driving slowly they would impress. They are more GTD Nogaro style than GTI Austins.
I have been looking for a set of VW Serrons and these to me are in a similar vein.

Yeah but the Serrons look fine because they stop short of trying to be too clever. The Clubsport once go a step too far imo. Maybe need to see them in the flesh?
Any pics of Serrons on a Mk7? Wonder if they'd suit the sharper angles of it as much?
-
It was similar when the Monza's went to the Austin's. The perspective of the Monza's got squashed and a lot of folk were not keen on them at first.
Each to their own though
-
I think the UK spec GTE's come with Serrons. A friend and forum member here drove one recently so I'll try and find his photos.
There's also a GT spec mk7 that parks around the corner from me that has Serrons fitted too. They look pretty good.
Going back to the Clubsport, I think a lot of the bits on the Worthersee show car will be options or just removed from UK spec, whether it appears as an ED40 or Clubsport.
I reckon 18's will come as standard and id be surprised if the bucket seats don't make an appearance at least as an option on the R400.
I still think 400/420 (with over boost like the Clubsport?) BHP is a hell of a lot for a 2.0 4 cylinder road car so really hope the power isn't all top heavy with a turbo that isn't responsive at low revs (which was the impression I got from a short ride in the passenger seat of one of those AMG A Class thingies).
And jackie treehorn: it's a defined R engine in the Clubsport, not a mapped GTI.

And some still not keen on them

I'm sure I can remember reading that these were the optional 19" alloys and it would come with 18" as standard. The bucket seats look fantastic though.
-
I'm glad they've sorted the track width, particularly at the back, it looks great lower and wider.
-
I can't help but think this car is going to do the Clubsport name a disservice. Unless I'm mistaken the whole Clubsport ethos is about stripping weight, and creating a more driver focussed car, not just creating something that is visually appealing that has more power. The wheels alone look like they weigh a tonne! I guess we'll see.

It's a show car so probably wearing spacers and dropped suspension. Don't get your hopes up!

The Alcantara steering wheel and rear spoiler are negatives for me.
Are the seats an older RS4 design?

some pics of red clubsport testing ...

Really like that front bumper.
-
Really like the wheels on the red test car
-
i'm liking this, in some ways buckets, half cage and bits floats my boat a bit more than the R400
-
Really hoping VW take this seriously and it doesn't just become a not really very exciting ED40. As said earlier, Clubsport should be all about vehicle weight reduction and increased driver involvement/fun. Carbon roof, lightweight trim panels, increased aero, lighter wheels and brakes etc. More 968/CSL/R26.R.
-
The Clubsport would have a pretty limited appeal with cage and buckets, so therefore VW should press on and make it like that to really have a special car on their hands. It'd probably be very sought after in years to come too.
-
More like this?

The German chap who was with the R400 at GTI international last weekend told me that both the ED40 and the Clubsport would be reaching production........2 vehicles......with different spec.
He claimed to be the person responsible for the R400 concept and had worked on the Clubsport demo.
Ive no idea if he was in the position to offer such information...??

It looks quite good on the outside in most respects.
http://www.carscoops.com/2015/05/vw-details-golf-gti-clubsport-releases.html
But:
(1) FWD. Even with all the trickery, the wheels will spin and tramp. Just like RWD.
(2) Even though the integration of the rear spoiler is quite good, the size of it is very boy racer.
(3) The Red Lipstick through the headlights is tacky. Just as bad as the yellow for the R400.
(4) The Red bit that breaks the black on the steering, is very Type R and tacky.
(4) Those front seats with their massive bolsters will be a nightmare to enter and exit and will wear like no tomorrow. Also, to these eyes, the massiveness of those front seats makes for an oppressive looking cabin. I shed a tear for the occupants in the rear. Personally, I feel that the front seats look ugly.
Perhaps I might grow to accept it and even possibly like it.
That's all.
ETTO.

Looks very smart to me
Maybe a little hint at the MK8 GTI and what kind of BHP they will have or be starting with.
