Title: Engine vibrations at idle
Post by: Robbie89 on 13 June 2015, 00:57
Having intermittent random vibrations while engine is idling, feels like a misfire??

I noticed the engine is perfectly smooth again if I lightly hold the accelerater pedal down for an extra 1-200 revs.. Anyone else experience this? This is a new development currently at 16k miles

Do you happen to have the climate control switched off?  I notice that when it's off the motor revs about 100rpm lower - feels a bit lumpier.  If there is a genuine misfire the engine management lamps will come on.

Maybe one of the engine mounts giving away?

It does sound like a mount or a bush might be loose/broken, especially if it ties in with your other annoying rattle.
Have you done any violent launches or seen any warning lights flash up at any time?

I don't do violent launches there's just no point with the crappy Bridgestones! :P

I did have the EPC light come on recently and went into limp mode for about 1 hour on and off?

Should be an easy dealer fix then as it'll be logged in the ECU.
