Title: reverse lights not working after vr convo

Need some wiring help lads. Fitted a vr to my 8v gti mk3. Everything works. Apart from the reverse lights. Now the car has been running for a year now. I did a continuity test from the reverse light switch on the gear box to the fuse and nothing. So i have managed to trace it to the rad control mod. No broken wire to there. Now i am trying to get to the fuse box area. I have looked on the a2 wiring and that says the white plug (F) connector 6&7 (black/red & black/blue) so tried to do a conti test from the connector under rad control mod to the black/red & black/blue F connector and nothing. Any guide please guys?

have you checking for continuity across the switch itself?

Is the switch for a live or an earth ?.I know on some cars the live goes to the bulb all the time the ignition is on,all the switch does is connect the earth to light it up
