Title: Rebuild

I have rebulit my mk2 golf cylinder head and tryed starting it yesterday but all it did was turn over but not start

Have you checked spark? Fuel?

Yeh we have done that, put more fule in and we have sparks but it just keeps making the sound of lie it's trying

Well if you have fuel, and a spark my bet would be timing.

We have Lind up the belts and the distributor seems to be in line it's so confusing

Are you sure you've connected the HT leads from the dizzy to the correct spark plugs, in the correct firing order?
If so do this; (start from the 'timing' section)

We have Lind up the belts and the distributor seems to be in line it's so confusing

If you have done it correctly it would start... Use the TDC mark on the flywheel and check your marks - take photos to prove us wrong  :tongue:

Have you attached all the earths and have you connected the fuel pipes the correct way round?

It needs to be just right to start after a head rebuild. If you are sure the crank and cam are perfect then you need to losen the dizzy up and have someone twist it slowly as you try to start. It will start to catch as you get close but when running you need to set it up properly with a timing light
