So as everyone is aware by my posts I picked my car up yesterday and absolutely love it.
The dealer has been awesome, giving me updates, good discount and generally pretty friendly. When i picked the car up he told me I had a surprise coming in the post and he wouldn't tell me what it was.
Well it came today and I thought what a really nice gesture. I am a golf pro and golf manager at Exeter Golf & Country Club. In the background is the the 18th green and clubhouse. Very impressed.

That's amazing, the best I get from my dealer to a kick out the door once they take my money
-
That is a nice touch.
Best I ever got was the obligatory bunch of flowers on the back seat. Better than a kick out the door I suppose.
-
I got a bottle of Champagne and a VW Stainless Steel Thermos mug that fits nice in the front drinks holder this time. I also always get a touch up kit in the glove box too.

Not obligatory. Something Benfield always did, but Pulman don't seem to do (certainly not at the level of discount i'm used to getting). Perhaps for the female customers it may be common practice at Pulman. I rarely get the 1L top up bottle of oil I got elsewhere. But with generally getting £500 more in p/x and £1000 more in discount at Pulman vs Benfield, I figure I can buy my own with the difference.

Kinda assumed flowers might be the norm for female customers, obviously not. It was a very nice bouquet I have to say, and I'm pretty picky about flowers and hard to please (loath Chrysanthemums and anything too showy), but would eschew flowers for better p/x and/or discount. Never once received the top up oil

I got oil and screen wash too! I have been looked after by the dealer. Just come back from acouple of hours in it.
The car looks amazing at night time. Really impressed with the quality of the cabin. It's my first DSG car and love the options it gives you.
Can't wait to have the weekend off driving it. Might take it up to Dartmoor!!

It is a nice picture and gesture from the dealer. Although, if your greenkeeper goes on this forum he'll have words about you driving on the course!

I also got something similar from VW exeter except my pic was not coloured in. They obviously like you more than me. I am going to complain next time im in the dealership.
On another note I will agree with how professional Mann Egerton have been over the purchase and customer service of my GTI PP. I could not fault them at all.

That's a nice momento, very personal. Really nice.
My dealings with said dealership have been less positive but that's their loss when you think about how much I've wasted invested in cars over the years.
-
Sorry to hear you have had a less positive experience with VW Exeter. I have only bought one car so far from them and their sales staff have completely changed since I bought my GTI, but all in at present I have had a more than positive experience. However we will see whether my experience changes when I go in to negotiate a deal for my next car next year. Hope not, as up until now they have been great.
