Evening all,
I've just gone and got myself a replacement V5 engine but I've realised today that it uses a fly-by-wire throttle whereas my current V5 uses a throttle cable. Now, I have the complete engine, wiring loom and ECU from the donor car, so do I just need a new throttle pedal in the cabin and possibly make up a bracket to mount something in the engine bay?
Any help would be good, can't find too much technical advice on this so far on the internet. But kind of a show stopper if I can't figure it out!

Wasn't this engine just a stop-gap? Maybe just fit this engine with your old tb to get it on the road again, and compete the fbw setup later with the engine you wanted?

A good idea, and it's possible in theory, but the eventual plan would be to fit a V6 which will also use a fly-by-wire so while the engine is out now it makes sense to do the conversion so that a V6 replacement will be less stressful.
But I like your thinking, wouldn't of thought of that myself.
