1. With HBA do you have any control to turn it off either by a switch or Infotainment screen setting ?
2 . If not when driving at the 37+mph with dipped beams on I assume it always automatically go to high beam if the camera doesn't detect any oncoming traffic or vehicles in front ?
3. From your experience does it always return from high beam to dipped fast enough not to get flashed ?

1. Its controlled by the lights stalk - details in manual
2. Has to be turned on by pushing the stalk backwards and the icon will appear on the MFD (full beam light with an A)

My answers:
1) You have to turn it on each time you start the car (maybe VCDS can make this permanent)
2) Before you 37mph it will never go to main beam. Once you have gone faster, if you slow to below 37mph it will then use main beam if it can't see anything that might be a car (it can be fooled by other light sources and also by reflections from large motorway signs!)
3) Most of the time its ok, in some scenarios it doesn't - the main regular one being when you are on a dual carriageway and the barrier masks the lights of the oncoming cars - or lorries in particular where it can't see the headlights but the driver is high enough to see your main beam - and flash at you. Although to be fair, the Xenons are very directional, you'd not really be blinded unless you were actually in the path of the beam... but lorry drivers are always bored so do things like flash you.

I'm actually still quite impressed with the HBA on my GTD, so much so that I made it permanent by coding it to Auto in VCDS, and lowered the speed at which it comes on to around 30mph (the slowest I think).
To turn it off, I just push forward on the high beam stalk, and again to turn it back on. Also, moving the light switch away from auto will reset the HBA to off and I then have to manually set it to on again, but it will remain set (even after stopping and removing the key and restarting the next morning), for so long as I don't over-ride the auto setting as mentioned above.

I've stopped using HBA. Just find that the lights stay on a fraction of a second too long. Long enough for people to start flashing their lights at me.

I've specced this on my R too so this is useful info.

I use it all the time, works brilliantly.
Changed coding with VCDS so HBA stays on when you turn igntion off and back on (as long as you don't change light switch position). Also modified lower activation speed to about something like 45kph.
