Title: ABS unit, which brake pipe goes where! :D.. (oh dear..)
Post by: benbenjamin on 17 May 2015, 21:30
I managed to ruin the brake pipes while changing the brake hoses on the front of my 1.8t golf (AUG), and had some new pipes made up for the front (from the ABS unit to the brake hoses), but.. I think they may have been made using the wrong connectors. To be sure, I need to know which side (UK car) the yellow and red are supposed to go to. I've had a look at the bentley manual, and it says one is left, the other right (naturally), but idk whether it means left looking at the car from the front, or left from sitting in the driver's seat, and so on. It could well be that I've confused the two.

One of the brake pipes (yellow and red in the pic) goes back to the firewall, across and down to the driver's side. The other goes straight to the passenger side.

Would super appreciate some clarification :D.
