Thanks for letting us know :)
-
Yeah thanks for that. I downloaded and installed it this afternoon.
Interesting to see that Audi don't go with them for their maps but prefer TomTom as the supplier! I would have thought they were the same!
-
Has anyone managed to download and run it on a mac?
I tried for a hour or so tonight but couldn't get it to work. Failing getting it to work, do VW update it during a service?
-
Your better off using a proper PC

Follow the links again. I am sure there is a Mac version. It may be that the OP had already selected Windows when they posted the link.

Not at all likely because of the time involved for which they do not get paid.
They may of course offer to sell you an updated SD card !
-
No, it didn't work on my Mac either
Having to slum it now, and use the other half's Windows 8 machine instead

I know the feeling!! Uni computers are windows. horrible machines
I got it to work this afternoon though, You need to get the unarchiver from the app store, download the file from the nav website as usual and then when you open it, it automatically decrypts it into the same format as the ones on the SD card, i made a copy just incase but just replace the old files with the news ones and it worked for me
-
Yeah, I use that software too
This was the message I got

Weird but my software was called p51 something.
Maybe that's the old file?? Did you download all parts of just one of them? That could explain difference in name
-
Just the one large file for the Discover Pro, using a download manager to stop the download from dropping out
-
i just used safari's standard downloading process. I've unfortunately no idea then
-
all sorted (I think) - I was trying to be too clever by copying the unzipped file to the SD card first and then unzip it :)
-
Used the Nav today, And i noticed that i had little blocks which look like they are meant to be for road names i.e. m42 or a42 etc.
Anyway they are empty?? Anyone else got this since updating? how did you fix?
-
Hmm, I'm having a few problems with mine. It downloaded fine but apparently the 5.63gb file is too large to fit on an empty 32gb SD card...
-
JB - thats because your SD card is formatted to FAT32 and you're exceeding the maximum 4gb file size

I haven't had this issue, but it was mentioned on golfmk7.com - some of the info there might help

Thats great, thanks I've taken some of their advice and used a different program to unzip
-
So what has actually changed on this update - cant be many new roads surely?
-
It's not just new roads they include, although you'd be surprised at how many new roads there are across the whole of the UK in a year, let alone Europe as well. It also includes changes to junctions, roundabouts, one-way systems, different speed limits etc. So yeah, probably more significant than you might think.
-
Yup, Red is correct.
And you never notice the changes... you notice the absence of them much more - like when you get told to turn off onto a missing road or your car suddenly appears to drive across a field...
If you are a regular long distance traveller, I suggest you update your maps ASAP.... if you only ever drive to your local shop to buy 10 fags, probably not waste your time.

I installed today the Discover Media updtate.
After insert the the SD card in the slot 1, the system took 3 minutes to recognise the new update sd card, wich I find strange due to the fact that there are many people complainig that sometimes it may take 4 hours...
I check, and the current version installed is: SGO919866AB0051 ECE 2015/16.
I assume this is the last update released.
Could you be kind to confirm?
Thanks

Yes. That's the same version as mine.
-
On the Discovery Nav the update is complete once you have extracted the files to the SD card and inserted it in the car.
On the Nav Pro it then has to copy/decompress/bugger around with the files from the SD card and put them onto the SSD in the card. It can and does take several hours.
-
15mins to download, 45 to unzip and then an hour to update the nav pro.
-
All updated here too, finally my estate that I live on is recognised!
-
Just undated Discovery Pro. Can anyone confirm the latest version is V03959800LH0123 ECE 2015/2016. Thanks
-
Just downloaded this today.
I extracted it to the hard drive of my computer.
Do you just copy the 19GB extracted folder to an SD Card and then put it in and go for a drive for a hour or so?
What format does the SD Card have to be? (doing this on a Mac)
Thanks
-
Its recommended to use 7 zip file manager.
unzip with that and then copy to your SD card.
You don't have to go for an hours drive as its safe to be interrupted.
Mines updated completely on my 15 minute drive to work.
-
Thanks for that.
It seems to have extracted ok to a new folder so will copy that across and see if it will update.
-
The nav in my soon to be replaced Touareg tells you the distance to the next service station in the dis, the nav itself is a bit poor but because of the size of the dial display it has quite a bit of info, is it possible to get this info on the mk7 Golf at all?
-
Is that when you have selected a route to take?
I'm sure in the Golf if POI are selected then this info is displayed.

Yes only if you're en-route and on a motorway, i don't remember seeing it in the Golf system, i'll have a look when it turns up, do i need to load the POI's on or are service stations already in the database?
-
Some petrol stations are in the POI.
Unfortunately the map database people are gits and only choose to list the companies who pay to be in the database... so you won't see every possibility.
-
Arghh, I hate computers.
Spend all day trying to get this update on the car.
Seemingly I extracted the first time using the Unarchiver, which won't work, tried StuffIt and that didn't play either.
Tried another one now.
Have 3 folders in the unzipped folder, do I have to copy the folder P123_N60S5MIBH3_EU_NT, or all 3 individually from that folder, Eggnog, NavDB and SpeechResVDE to the SD Card.
Thanks
-
Once you have extracted the files just copy them as they are over to the SD card, folder structure and all.
-
Copied the 3 files and for whatever reason it accepted it.
All updated now, took about 40 mins or so to copy.
Now reading 2015/16 in system info.

Don't know about Pro Nav but with the basic Nav you can have it display POIs like service stations etc but it wont give you any detailed information like that.
-
Thanks for this - been meaning to download/install for sometime. Now doing so!
-
Where is the link to download in one go? I only see the individual parts downloads?
Help pls
-
The link is the word 'Full Download'

Trying to update my sat nav pro for the first time in two years and I get a bloody error message after having waited an hour. I unzipped the file and followed the instructions but got this coming up. Any ideas??
