Title: MK5 front hub help
Post by: gasketface on 11 May 2015, 20:32
Hi all.

I normally post in the MK3 section but i'm trying to help a mate out with a front hub issue.

He has a 54 plate 1.6 (i think it's an FSi ??) and the top thread that holds the caliper to the hub has stripped.

I thought it was like the MK3 where the caliper had a bracket that bolts to the hub so was hoping to get just the bracket. Now iv'e looked at it i can see that there is no caliper bracket and he is going to need a complete hub.

I know my local breakers has no mk5's that they are breaking so my question is "can i get an identical hub off of any other VW or Seat etc that will do the job ?".

Hoping someone can post any useful info soon ???.

Thanks in advance

You might find aftermarket hubs as well....
