Title: Catalytic Warning light on
Post by: gustavomcvieira on 08 May 2015, 19:26
Today, leaving a Parking Lot, when a started the engine (VW Golf GTI 220hp - DSG) the Catalytic and airbags lights on the dashboard lighted on, but after some seconds the Catalytic warning light remained on.

Does any one had this problem before ?

Does any one knows the reasons for this warning light ?

P.S: I phoned the after sales services of VW here in Luxembourg, and they strongly recomended to avoid any new mileages in the car, and to bring it to VW services for a check.

I had it on my mk6 and rang the garage and they advised the same. Mine was a sensor gone faulty but if you drive it and your catalytic converter gets damaged it could cost a bit to replace.

It's in warranty I assume or was serviced at VW?
Then you should have VW assist and they should tow it to garage for free.

A VCDS scan might tell you what is wrong if there is someone local to you.
