Title: Anyone tell me what engine this is?

Okay so there's a Mk1 Golf for sale and they say this engine is a Mk2 1.8? Obviously it's not the 16v but is it the 8v or is it a smaller size engine? Never really seen this one to be honest? Please help ha ha

Well the problem is that the 1.8, 1.6 and 1.5 all look identical so you can only really tell by the engine code.

don't know the answer but that bay is screaming out for a 1.8t with a big turbo bolted to it  :whistle:

it cant be a 1.5 anyway as they had the rad top hose running to alternator side of head, same as mk1 1.6 gti engine. its never easy making out the engine number on rusty blocks :rolleyes:
