Managed to limp back to the pits and after a cooling off period the car drove home OK but with all sorts of error messages. After scanning the car with VCDS I cleared all the fault codes and it is back to its normal healthy self and drives perfectly with no faults.

Can only assume it did not like being pushed as I have had no issues in the 18 months from new, will be checking regularly for any intermittent faults.

Any one else had anything like this

I had it on my gti pp, I was pushing the car hard for about 15mins when all of sudden  I had all the warning lights come on then it went straight into limp mode, after about 10mins it reset itself & it never happened again, at the time I put it down to revo mapp I had on the car.

Did you get the detail from the VCDS scan?

Yes ,but the detail is to long to post and shows all manner of errors all over the system, obviously some major intermittent fault as since I cleared all faults the car has been running perfectly and no new faults have been found

From experience with my car when playing around with various things....id say the canbus network has either crashed or lost too many packets of data from either interference or a poor connection. Under or over voltage can also cause havoc to the network....but that is pretty unlikely.
