Title: Playing videos through MMI cable

Hi
Does anyone know if you can play videos off your iPod or iPhone through the discover nav?
there is a menu that comes up with play videos,  when my iPhone is plugged in ?

Not the pro just the regular discover. I'm sure I read somewhere there is an MMI cable you can get that lets you play videos you have on your iPod/iPhone onto your screen.

This is the options when I've plugged my iPhone in. It suggests you can play videos?

I have the discover Nav Pro and an old iPod Touch (connected via the MDI socket), and it plays all my music videos, movies and TV programs stored on the unit no problem. Even then (as a test) I moved some movies from an SD card on the internal HDD (the Jukebox), and they play fine as well - so it does work perfectly.

As I understand it however, if you are connecting via MDI (rather than the later USB), you will need one of the later MDI cables with the Red collar (the earlier black collar ones don't work with movies).

No, not on the standard Discover.

You get the option because it's standard software but the screen re and refresh rate means it won't play videos.... Purely a screen hardware limitation

Mmmm. I'm getting various answers to this. I've seen clips of a discover with videos playing albeit maybe with less quality. I've emailed a few people. I'm waiting to see what comes back. Sounds like the red collar cable will work with an iPod but they don't do one for iPhone 6 yet.
