Hi, trying to remove my scuttle panel / rain tray to check the ECU code so I can get a chip but the large flat mushroom clips that hold it in place just spin around when I try to unscrew them without coming out.
How can I get the little buggers out?! Cheers :)

Use a flat screwdriver and prise the outer part of the clip slightly up while you're undoing the pin in the middle with a screwdriver. This will stop em from spinning. You only need to undo a few turns - then you can pull them out (both parts should come out still attached to each other - otherwise you've undone it too much).
What engine do you wanna fit a chip too?

Thanks will do. Have you got one, any good, notice any difference?
If it's the type that just plugs in I'll go for it but if it's a solder job I might not bother.

Yes it just plugs in. It did make a little difference about 5 bhp at most.

Thanks, just found it, guy with the crazy hair.
Am I right in thinking you have to disconnect the battery even with the engine off before removing the ECU / chip?
-
Yeah if I remember correctly I did

I would always disconnect battery when working on electrics (be aware of your radio code though).
