Title: Biturbo
Post by: mikeok on 26 April 2015, 12:45
I know it's not a Mk7 but some peps had asked to what me about this before and it shares a lot of mk7 parts so here are some pics of my new Passat bitdi.
I was due to pick up yesterday but I have had it pro valeted with Getchniq and the valeted spotted a stone chip on the door from transit...Dealer is arranging for a whole new door to be fitted this week.
They agree they won't respray on a new car..tried to attach a pic below..(http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h112/mikeok2/Mobile%20Uploads/20150421_151815_zpsdtqmnmbp.jpg) (http://s62.photobucket.com/user/mikeok2/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150421_151815_zpsdtqmnmbp.jpg.html)

Looks excellent. Is it way way bigger than the mk7?

That looks a beast.
Real road presence but stealthy too, and finally VW have a proper rival for some of the big engined 3 series BM's

Hi
Yes it's a great engine. Iv driven the GT with the same engine and it's very quick.
interior is a big step up also. Love the GTD/I steering wheel also..(http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h112/mikeok2/Mobile%20Uploads/20150421_145547_zpsdvvjkonq.jpg) (http://s62.photobucket.com/user/mikeok2/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150421_145547_zpsdvvjkonq.jpg.html)

Mcdaddy
It's actually a little shorter than the B7 passat it replaces but more interior room due to wheels being moved further to the edges...

It's very much more aggressive at the front with the R line styling than say the GT etc.
It's fresh off the transport in those pics with the transport blocks still on the suspension so will sit a bit lower once it settles.

lovely, what exact model and options did you go for ?

It's pretty loaded for std to be honest so kept it simple. Met black, electric tail gate as I love the current one on my Alltrack, winter pack and heated windscreen.  I also added heated steering wheel which was an option but vw then withdraw the option I'm guessing due to parts supply. So I was emailed a few months ago to say I couldn't have it..
comes with full LED headlights and not just the DRL'S also 7 sp dsg,  sat navigation and load of other stuff which accounts for some of the large hike between the 190 and 240 bhp models.

Looks smart. New Passat seems to be getting a lot of rave reviews and that engine on paper seems excellent.

Hi
from the GT version iv driven the new 7up dsg mates very well with the new biturbo.  It's a lot smoother than my current 177 dsg. Less jerky when slowing then going on roundabouts. Ultra smooth in comparison.  The 177 dsg is not bad by any means but this is notiably better.
