Title: Clock Reset to 00:01 Whilst Ignition Off
Post by: iamrich on 25 April 2015, 17:15
Has anyone else had their GTI reset it's clock to 00:01 whilst the ignition is off?

I've had my GTI PP from new since last Sep. After turning the ignition this morning I spotted the clock had reset itself to 00:01.

I simply reset the clock and it's not reset itself today so hardly the end of the world.

Just left wondering if this is a common 'bug'?

Cheers.

I had a 3 series BMW that used to do this,it was the battery not holding a charge.

I the battery ok? Perhaps if you tell them it keeps failing they might swap it while its still under warranty?

Definitely a power interruption.
I had to have a new battery at 12 months.

Thanks guys.

I'll raise it with VW if it happens again.

Have a check that your battery terminal connections are not slightly loose. Had this issue on my mk6, clock reset and all electrics reset. Turned out one of the battery terminal connections was slightly loose and just needed tightening. That solved the problem for me and it never reoccurred.
