I have been trying to find some 50 to 70 and general performance figures for the above. I currently have a standard 2.5 wrx and am awaiting delivery of of PP GTI and wanted to get a feel for how it will compare to my existing car, as I keep getting a nagging feeling i should have ordered the RR instead.
Having said that it feels a bit academic at the moment as i ordered the car first week in March and don't even have a build date yet.......

WRX is a 2007 model

A mate of mine has a 2006 WRX and no difference in performance once you're off the line. You'll notice a reduction in traction so launches won't be as good, but 50-70 seems a touch quicker in the GTI because of the extra torque available.
It depends if you wanted to match your current power or exceed it. The GTI is very capable and on the road will match a WRX easy, but the R will smash it into the ground.

The GTI pp appears to be a bit quicker than the 2008 2.5 WRX. Try http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel4572-1690.htm
The torque spread is better and the peak power is lower down the rev range. I just took delivery of mine. I think you'll find the Golf to be very agreeable

Thanks for the responses think i'll stick with the GTI PP, as you say it stands up pretty well everywhere to the Scooby. Just need to wait for delivery now ordered start of march expected first week in june but with no build date yet and all the horror stories about delivery times thats looking optimistic.

Yeah hopefully they will be long gone by June. I'm still waiting on my R that should have replaced my GTI last week. It's still sat at emden port in Germany......
