Fortunately i have been and also been in touch with my dealer

I hope they build it in 5 door guise.
I think the price will be pitched very close to the Audi RS3, so between £35,995 to £39,995.
Add options you will be looking at £48,000 - £52,000 fully loaded.

Yup, agreed! I specced out an RS3 online the other day and it came to a shade over £48k - which is very expensive!

Reviews are positive on the Audi RS3 but not overly so, some even say that the Golf R is more fun and is £10k less than the RS3.
The Golf R420 just needs to keep the "fun", think current Golf R but with more power, the same fun handling.... why spoil a great all round package?
