Title: Stuck at the dock
Post by: remlapeel on 21 April 2015, 23:42
Hey guys,

I was meant to get my R last week or today at the latest. Keep getting called by my broker saying its caught in a backlog for transportation to the UK. So rather than being on my drive, it's sat at the docks waiting to be shipped.....hopefully I'll get it next week.

Anyone else have the issue?

I haven't even got a build date yet although I am hoping for at least week 22. I have been checking a few forums though and there are a lot of people who seem to go from step 2 to 5 or 6!!!!! Hoping this doesn't happen as I need time to get the private plate off my current car.

I had the same scenario this time last year, but that was because Easter was late last year and the two Bank Holidays slowed everything up.

I have a GTI DSG that has been sat on the quay side at Emden since the 6th March. Dealer "hopes" that it might get put on a boat this week - fingers crossed. I was promised that I would take delivery on 24th March.

BW11 and still sat in a compound awaiting delivery to the dealer.

What frustrates even more is the dealer seems totally disinterested & keeps telling me they have moved my delivery date back by another 2 weeks. Yeah great that's really helpful.

Previously I have only bought physical stock cars & I genuinely will not order another VAG car as a factory build, my order was placed in October 2014.

Really frustrated now.

It's all very poor but to be fair the dealers can't do anything to help anyway...its a complete mess

I wouldn't say there is nothing they can do, there is nothing they are willing to do.

I'm sure no one would complain with £500 -£1000 off for incompetence;)

I contacted VW today to chase mine that should have been on my driveway last week. still sat at Emden dock but been told that VW have confirmed that the backlog will be shifted by the end of the month (next week) by shipping over 1200 cars to the UK.

Still waiting for my BW 10 GTI to be shipped, but have managed to "extract" a £850 goodwill payment from my dealer.
