Afternoon all,
I have a had key battery low come up for a couple of days now and today got out to find the battery has completely gone.
Find it a bit crazy considering the car is only 18 months old.
Anyway, I opened the door with the hidden key slot but the alarm still goes off, also I cant start the car because its keyless.
I was hoping a straight battery swap was going to be all I need but looks like it requires synchronisation first.
Any ideas on how to get the car moving or will I need someone to come to me?
Thanks
Chris

Apparently if you hold the key next to where you would normally have an ignition barrell then press the start button it should start, i've either read or seen that can't remember!
Edit: yup!

Happened to me. Hold it where jimble has suggested and it will start bi have bought from the bay replacement battery but haven't replaced them as yet.

Thanks guys, it's not working for me. Might be due to the keyless entry I have specced.
Looks like I have to travel home for the spare. Only an hour each way!

What Jimble has said would only work for keyless entry otherwise you would be just starting the car with the key. Are you holding the key right beside where the ignition barrel would be?

The video is of a keyless car

Is the car in neutral?

The car was in park and not working, did I miss the obvious?

Going nowhere fast?
At first I thought this might be a thread about GTD's.
Only joking guys.

No help at all to the subject but Ive had the low battery warning and many times seen the key not found alert whilst driving, but the dealer says the battery is fine after last service, maybe the keyless is taking its toll on standard working life as ive never had a car long enough to change the battery!
**EDIT**
Ok just read this http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=272356.0 seems im not alone.
