Title: 89 8v PB won't start

Just s quick one before I attempt to fault find with limited knowledge. Classic day before Spring GTI Fest!
does this wire need connecting?

blue? That is the alternator exciter wire. Yes needs to be connected.

In terms of not starting. A little more info would be good. Is it just not firing? Not cranking?

From that pic the power to your starter doesn't look too tight, as a side note

a quick question is one thing but that one was a bit to quick :grin: you need to find the wire that connector has fallen off and re-connect it. then charge your battery up and all should be well.

Thanks everyone! I just had to strip back and re-connect that wire and the battery started charging again.
