Title: 20v turbo anni
Post by: welshvalver on 06 April 2015, 21:30
hay guys and gals not been on hear for a few months  right before you put me in front of the firing squad for starting another 20vt thread let me tell you whats been going on the past few months.
the 16v failed its mot so i decided to brake it and sold engin box ect to a friend which is currently going in a mk2 then up untill a few weeks ago i was dubless  now iv acquired a tidy anni but its a 8v and is not a much fun as the old valver so im contemplating putting a 20vt in it
iv been reading through lots of build threads ect and i just have a couple of questions i need clearing up before i put wheels in motion.
so first is my mate who had the 16v engine box ect has a passat 20vt which i cant get for next to nothing but its a auto and will this effect ecu, bay loom ect ?
secondly is the electrical side of thing .... im cluless with wires so is there anyone who could maby build me a loom and defeat the imobilizer or just jive me some pointers. i dont realy want to spend £800+ on a qpeng if i cant help it and has anyone had any dealings with vagtronics on ebay as there looms are £240.
thanks in advance

I'm not really much help when it comes to this sort of wiring for conversions.  I know there are people out there who can help, certainly rubjonny.

Research, research, research to get it right.

And seeing as though you have an Anniversary, try and keep those Anniversary touches on it   Too many interiors, gear knobs have been sold to fund shiney sh ! t

don't spend anything on engines until you have had all the plastic off.

ok cheers guys thanks brad il try get hold of them. under plastics ? il have to check but i have a friend who's good with dubs and a spray gun dont know if any of you guys heard of darkdub? any body work will go to him.
its solid underneath and just has a patch on the driver door and passanger wing thats all iv managed to find up to now.
i know what you mean simon it will stay looking like a anni but under the skin will be some extra poke along with uprated brakes and suspention. im not looking for big numbers just something fun to drive maby bigger cooler, good exhaust system, ko3s and good mapping session
thanks again

sent a email to brad through bgk just waiting to hear back now. i think the only issue il have is getting a loom made and the immobilizer defeated other than that everything els i can probably do. iv done a few bits and pieces with  engines in the past i did the abd conversion to a polo gt coupe i had years ago put redtops in corsa's novas ect iv just never done anything to do with wiring unfortunately.
is rubyjohn? on hear he is another name i have heard pop up about the ecu and wiring side of things.
cheers guys
