They probably screwed that up then :undecided:
Or or they charging potential R owners £500 more to offset the contribution  :lipsrsealed:

More likely they're trying to get more cars ordered in the quiet time between plates and are able to do it purely off the back of the stronger Pound/weaker Euro without VW UK being out of pocket for what they may have forecast 6 months ago. Long term "ideal" Euro:GBP exchange rates for many large blue chip companies (including my own employer) is 1.25:1, making European built cars quite cheap for the importing companies right now. Presumably they don't need to do it on the R or GTD, perhaps through being comfortable with the volumes already on order or they're constrained by specific parts availability for those 2 models.

Mine will hopefully have a build week confirmed next week. Even though Iv ordered the car and the finance has been approved etc can I still get the £1250 instead of the £750?

I doubt it, as it will mean a whole new finance quote, I may be wrong though, speak with your dealer

benmartingolf: Pretty sure they can get you the new deal, you've been offered finance on certain terms, and if there are better terms available now, you can reapply. Careful though, make sure the new deal is better overall than the old one - yes you get an extra £500 on your deposit, but make sure the APR hasn't gone up to negate that £500 over the term.

You will get the new deal if you ask for it - so long as you have not signed up for the deal at the old rates (which you only normally do on collection anyway).

I hope they have a deal like this (as well as some healthy discounts) if/when they release an ED40!
 :lipsrsealed:
Broker price plus finance deposit seems to be around £4.5k off list for a basic GTI right now
