Title: Injectors
Post by: Mcwill on 31 March 2015, 11:53
Hi guys, not posted on here for a while.

Got the golf running a 1.8t AKM with a hybrid ko4 turbo.
Have just ordered a 4bar FPR but not sure on what injectors to go for.
Awesome gti sell the Bosch 550cc but keep reading about the genesis ones but can't find any in uk for sale and not sure what the difference is.
Help would be great as due to get mapped in couple of wks.

Also while am on the subject, I am running a mk3 16v fuel pump.
Will this be ok to run around 300bhp or do I need an upgrade and if so what's best option.

Thanks again

I'm doing deatschwerks injectors now and they have some great help on there website to help calculate best type http://www.deatschwerks.com/ (http://www.deatschwerks.com/)
I've also just done a walbro fuel pump for a similar power output to what your needing (The Mk3 pump runs at 3 bar and wasn't enough for the power output)

I sell this range too http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/ (http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/) It depends on what you want, they do a range of Mk4 replacement pumps that direct fit with higher flow. I can check into them if you want? (Some people swear by certain types but need further work!)

Maybe a P3031.1 pump http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/hi-in-tank-fuel-injection-pump-580453711/ (http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/hi-in-tank-fuel-injection-pump-580453711/)

Plenty of write up's for fitting the mk4 on google and at £59.95 they are well priced

Will that fit in a mk2s fuel tank?
Is it a replacment for the lift pump?

Ah I was thinking mk4 fitment not Mk2, The common pump that seems to be used on mk2 conversion is a 342 type http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/in-tank-fuel-injection-pump-255lph-pump-only-851/ (http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/in-tank-fuel-injection-pump-255lph-pump-only-851/)

hey what injectors are fitted at the moment?

550cc will be fine for 300bhp (they will be fine till about 335bhp) although 650cc's will give you the chance if you want more bhp later

The deatschwerks one's I do are a very popular injector and direct fit for the Mk4 1.8t

The engine is out of a seat Leon cupra R, engine code AMK so it runs same injectors as the BAM engine.
Think they are 380cc.

if you could find out what power the leon can be mapped to on standard injectors then you will have a ballpark figure. or just google"fuel injector flow rate v bhp" that should come up with some info for you.
